Skincare In Your 30s

Your thirties come with a lot of… adjustments.

I know that for me, I found that part of growing older is relearning your body and its needs along the way.

My body even craves different movements, exercises, foods and environments as she gets older.

I also began to notice that my  face texture and tone changed a bit.

To me that was an opportunity to dive in deeper to learning how to adequately take care of my-whole-self.

Every time I go through my skincare routine I feel as though I am writing a love letter to myself. One that reaches into my soul as I nourish the very thing that protects me as I move about each day.

When you make it personal, you’ll never see it as a chore.

Here are the five steps of my skincare routine - no matter what time I go to bed or wake up.

Remove makeup - Use an oil, like coconut oil, to dissolve your makeup. Wipe dry with a moist towel.

Cleanse - Use a cleansing product, I use this charcoal bar, to remove any impurities.

Tone  - This is where you use a toner specific to your face type, I use a Green Tea & ACV one.

Treat  - What does your skin need right now? Extra moisture? Texturing? Fading dark spots? Based on what you are treating at this phase you’d choose a concentrated product to achieve your skincare goals. I rotate between vitamin c serum and an overnight facial peel.

Moisturize  - Last (but never, ever the least), moisturize away. And don’t forget your neck. I opt for a heavier moisturizer at night, one that also addresses any agining, and a lighter one during the day that matches my hydration needs.

Consistency (and drinking water) is the key to healthy skin. That means a consistent skincare routine.

Okay??
